Homecoming True Aggie Night and Parade

Well SAA we did it! We made it through another Homecoming and it was a SUCCESS!!!!!! As a council we cannot thank everyone enough for helping out this past week with all our activities! Street painting was a success on Sunday and True Aggie Night and the parade were awesome and went, I think, almost as smoothly as they could have gone.

I would like to congratulate USU for breaking the world record for the Longest Kissing Chain! How cool is that?! We had 1500ish people which is practically 3 times as many people from the previously set record, so, we to be Aggies! On top of that, to all the SAA Volunteers.....THANK YOU!!!!!!! I know dealing with the kissing chain and all the people was a little crazy, but thanks for putting on the big muscles for the night and being the SAA Bouncers! We could not have done it without you guys!

As for True Aggie Night itself.....FABULOUS! Going back to tradition was the best thing we could have done last night! I thought it went pretty well. Everyone still got to kiss at midnight and stay if they wanted, so I think it well. And congrats to all those out there who are now officially a True Aggie! Way to carry on the tradition!

As for the parade......AWESOME!!!!! I know I had a ton of fun and it looked like everyone else did as well! I know it was an early start to the day, especially after last night, but thank you, one and all, for coming to help! It looked like all went pretty much according to plan and the spectators seemed to love it as well!

I would also like to send a super loud shout out to Brianna Bodily and Megan Allen for doing a fabulous job on all the traditions stuff! This week was such a success and you guys did awesome!!!!! Also Craig Whyte, Milo Williams, Bobbie Chatterton, SAA Council, volunteers and everyone else that headed up this week.....THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! This week could have not have happened with everyone's help! Thanks guys and Happy Homecoming!!!!

Street Painting

Hello Homecoming Week!!!!!!! What a fabulous week we have ahead of us! Homecoming is such a fun week with soooo many activities planned, so I encourage everyone....young or old, small or tall, tired or energetic.....EVERYONE to attend as many activities as you can this week!

There are so many fun activities this week and what better way to start out a week full of activities with one of the greatest activities of them all.....STREET PAINTING!!!! As SAA we were able to go late Sunday night and paint the intersections of 4th North and Main, as well as 8th East and 10th North, and might I add they look FABULOUS!

Thank you to all of those who came and help. We could not have done it without all you wonderful volunteers. I know it was late and a little chilly, but we really do appreciate everyone for coming and helping. I like to think that we all had a pretty good time taping, painting and partying it up at 11pm at night in the middle of the busiest streets in Logan!

I'd like to give a big shout out to Brianna Bodily, our wonderful traditions chairperson who was in charge of this fabulous activity. Everything went according to plan due to her great organization skills and we thank you for that. And thank you again for coming and pulling those great art skills to help us accomplish this great task!

I'd also like to remind everyone about True Aggie Night on Friday. Do NOT forget that we are going to be world record breaking Aggies as of friday night! I want to see everyone at the quad at 10:45pm to help break the world record for the longest kissing chain! Then on saturday morning we need all the volunteers we can get to help with the parade. We will be meeting at 7:30am at Logan High School!

Well thanks again everyone and I hope you have a fabulous homecoming week, and make sure you scroll down and check out the pics from street painting.....they are great!

Highway Cleanup

Nothing like some bright orange vests, a busy highway, and a good afternoon to bring a bunch of serving individuals together!

This year, we kicked off our service projects with a great Highway Cleanup! There were not a ton of us there, but we were able to accomplish a lot and have a great time doing it.....and don't we all look so spiffy in our bright orange safety vest?! I sure think we do!

I'd also like to give a shout out to Whitney Olson for putting together a great service project! It was fabulous!

Just a reminder that Homecoming week is this week, so everyone get ready for a fabulous week! Our first SAA activity will be street painting tomorrow night. We will be meeting at the Alumni House and then split into our groups to go paint. On Friday we have True Aggie Night where we will not only be kissing out special someones, but we will also be unveiling our newly refinished "A" and breaking the world record for the longest kissing chain! Then Saturday morning we will be meeting at Logan High at 7:30am the start on stuff for the parade, so I hope to see everyone there during our fun week that we have planned! TOOTLES!!!

September 12th True Aggie Night

First True Aggie Night is a Success! Thank you to everyone who showed up show their Aggie spirit whether it was to smooch your special someone or just to spectate, it was a great night....even if we were all soaking wet from the ever so loved sprinklers! There was a great turn out, Aggie radio provided some great music and commentary, and SAA was on their game! Way to be everyone!

I'd also like to give a shout out to Megan Allen and her traditions committee....You guys rocked it! We couldn't have done it without you guys!

Now I know we just had a True Aggie Night, but Homecoming True Aggie Night is just around the corner, so everyone get your smoochin' lips ready, cause September 23rd is going to ROCK! Not only will we be kissin' your special someone at midnight and having a ribbon cutting for our newly renovated "A", we, the Utah State Aggies, will be breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest kissing train! It is going to be the coolest thing ever, so make sure you head over to the quad at 11pm on September 23rd to help break the record (and this will be cheek kissing so everyone can come)!

Below are some pictures from our September 12, 2011 True Aggie Night, so check them out to see if ya made it on!
