For all those that missed it, last Wednesday night was our Cafe Sabor night. It was certainly a fun filled evening with great food in a fun atmosphere. There was even karaoke. Those who came had the option of sweet pork, shredded chicken, or shredded beef burritos - man were they good! The chips and salsa were amazing as well. As the evening went on, between the karaoke, there were some raffle drawings and prizes given away.

Homecoming True Aggie Night!
On the night of the 24th, after the Homecoming Dance, hundreds of Aggies gathered around the "A" to take part in the 90 year old tradition of becoming a True Aggie. Athletics Director Scott Barnes and his wife were the celebrity couple. The A on Old Main was lit blue. Also, there was an A on the mountain side lit up.

Membership Luau and True Aggie Night
On October 7th, we had a Luau at the Alumni House. We had Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner and then watched 50 First Dates. There were even live fish in the centerpieces! It was a night of food and fun, and if you didn't come, you sure missed out. Thanks to all those who helped make this activity possible.
Last night, October 14th, was True Aggie Night. We had quite the crowd and several couples climbed upon the "A" and under the light of the moon and the Old Main A lit Blue, kissed and became True Aggies. It was a little cold but still a blast. Thanks to all who braved the cold to help out or to participate.
Don't forget, next week is Homecoming Week. On our Newsletter page: (http://www.usu.edu/saa/newsletter/index.cfm) there is a link to the latest Newsletter and on the back page is a schedule of all that will be going on next week.
Also, for True Aggie Night, next Friday the 24th, we will be breaking the school record of more than 2,000 people kissing at midnight. So we will need EVERYONE there to participate and help break the record. Registration will begin at 10:30 so we can keep track of how many people are there kissing. So don't be late because we will all be kissing at Midnight!
Below are some pictures from the luau:

Hey Fellow Aggies!!
Sorry it has taken me a bit to get these pictures posted here.
If you didn't go to the first True Aggie Night, you MISSED OUT!! We had quite the crowd; it started kinda slow but exploded to a huge number of people! Thanks to all who came and also to those who helped!
Our "celebrity" couple that started us off at Midnight was Dan and Heather Pelfrey, recently married. Even our Traditions VP, Megan Darrington became a True Aggie!
Whether you were at this one or missed out, be sure to be there next month!! At Homecoming we are going to break the school record of the number of people who become True Aggies, but we need everyone's help to do that, so BE THERE!!

ASAP National Networking Convention
Hey there fellow Aggies and members of Student Alumni! This weekend, part of the Exec Board went to the ASAP National Networking Convention, held in downtown Salt Lake City at the Hilton. We had a blast and met lots of people from allover the United States - there were lots of schools from the Mid-West and back East. We got lots of great ideas of how we can better our Student Alumni and lots of new ideas we can incorporate into our organization. There were several great keynote speakers: Nadine Wimmer from KSL 5 Eyewitness News, Michael Dunn - was attacked by a grizzly bear 14 years ago in Grand Teton National Park, and Jill Stevens - Miss Utah 2007 and served in Afghanistan. We also received an award for Outstanding External Program for A-Day! We look forward to incorporating what we learned to what we already have in our organization as well as adding new things to Student Alumni!
Only 3 more weeks until school starts again!

Summer!!!
Hey there fellow Aggies!! This is the new Student Alumni Blog. Be sure to check back here often for periodic updates throughout the summer and for a lot more during the school year.
Summer is well underway, wahoo!! For some of you that still means you are in school, some are working and some playing, some in Logan and some not. Well, a couple weeks ago, the new Exec Board met for a retreat in Park City to plan the coming year, and let me just tell you, it is going to be AWESOME!! First of all, we would like you to get to know the new Exec Board a bit. Here is a photo we took in Park City:
Front row left to right: Megan Furniss - Activites, Tessa Goodall - Vice President, Kieley Hayden - Service
Middle row left to right: Alyson Shepherd - President, Allyce Jones - Treasurer, Corinne Smith - Membership, Alyse Marchant - Promotions, Meghan Gudmundson - Networking, Tate Matta - Promotions
Back row left to right: Todd Vincent - Secretary, Matthew Hansen - Historian, Lexie Grant - Activities, Megan Darrington - Traditions, Daniel Hilker - A-Day, Ryan Gudmundson - Networking
We spent a whole day planning next year and making sure that all the events will be great and to get a good jump start on next year.
Next year's memberships are now available. Now, whenever you join, your membership is good for one year from that point, not just to the end of the school year. This year's membership packet includes some sweet sweet items such as a Student Alumni water bottle:
and the return of True Aggie Chapstick!!!
So "Satisfy Tradition" and get yours. Membership fees are $30 like last year, so be sure to pay your dues for this year and tell all your friends about Student Alumni and to join as well!
